Since it was launched in 1991, OFTEC has played a leading role in raising standards within the heating industries of the UKand Republic of Ireland.
Their trade association represents the interests of oil storage, appliance and supply equipment manufacturers and we develop course and assessment material for training providers. They also operate a UKAS accredited competent person registration scheme for over 8,000 technicians involved in the installation and maintenance of oil, solid fuel, and renewable heating equipment and Part P electrical work.
HSE is the national independent regulator for work-related health, safety and illness, working in the public interest to reduce work-related death and serious injury in the workplace. It is a non-departmental public body (NDPB) reporting to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It is governed by a Board and the Senior Management Team.
HSE’s role now includes shaping, reviewing and enforcing regulations and producing research and statistics.
They are the official list of gas engineers who are registered to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and all other gas appliances. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register. Trust the Triangle. Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in 2009.
The main focus of the Register is on improving and maintaining gas safety to the highest standards. We make sure all gas engineers on the Register, over 120,000, are qualified to work with gas.
The Registered Competent Person Electrical single mark and register went live on 30th June 2014 and was officially launched in Parliament on 2nd July 2014. It was created following an agreement between all Government-approved electrical Competent Person Scheme Operators in England and Wales.
The single mark and register aims to raise awareness of electrical safety in the home by simplifying the task of finding and checking a competent, registered electrician.
The purpose of WRAS is to contribute to the protection of public health by preventing contamination of public water supplies and encouraging the efficient use of water by promoting and facilitating compliance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Byelaws in Scotland.
WRAS is a subscription membership company limited by guarantee and was incorporated on 4 August 2008. The subscribers of WRAS are the 26 UK Water Suppliers.
NICEIC is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. It has been assessing the electrical competence of electricians for nearly sixty years and currently maintains a roll of over 26,000 registered contractors.
NICEIC provides certification to firms across the heating, plumbing, renewable and insulation sectors.
